Hey, guys!

It is the first of October so that means it is time for my monthly wrap-up and my new TBR. So let’s do this.

What I read in September:

I had 5 books in my TBR this month but I just started school again which was hard to balance my time with all my activities. I hope this month will be different and I will be able to finish all the books on my TBR list for October.

October TBR:

  • The Great Gatsby by F.Scott Fitzgerald
  • Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Magaret Stohl
  • Destined for Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon
  • Shadows of Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon

That is all for this blog. I am excited to read these books and I hope that I finish all of them.

Thank you for reading!

On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she’s chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she’s kept hidden from everyone because she’s been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.” -Goodreads

Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there’s something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it’s mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees.

Mark and Trina are convinced there’s a way to save those left living from descending into madness. And they’re determined to find it—if they can stay alive. Because in this new, devastated world, every life has a price. And to some, you’re worth more dead than alive.” –Goodreads

September 2016 Book Buy of the Month

Hey, fellow book lovers!

I have decided that I will do something that I am going to call the Book Buy of the Month. I have decided to just buy one book a month from Half Price Books or wherever. I feel as though if I give myself a limit to how many books I can buy will help me save more money. This month Book Buy was actually two books and I feel like this will happen all the time, me buying two books a month. This month’s book buys of the month is:

  • Destined for Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon
  • Shades of Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon

I know TWO Doon books. I just love that series. I am sorry.

They are both Hardcover and I have them coming in the mail. I am so glad cause they were cheap. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Half Price Books. Best store in the world. When I get to reading them which probably won’t be until October I will write a review. Okay, that’s all for today, guys. Thank you for reading <3.

“Veronica doesn’t think she’s going crazy. But why can’t anyone else see the mysterious blond boy who keeps popping up wherever she goes? When her best friend, Mackenna, invites her to spend the summer in Scotland, Veronica jumps at the opportunity to leave her complicated life behind for a few months.

But the Scottish countryside holds other plans.

Not only has the imaginary kilted boy followed her to Alloway, she and Mackenna uncover a strange set of rings and a very unnerving letter from Mackenna’s great aunt—and when the girls test the instructions Aunt Gracie left behind, they find themselves transported to a land that defies explanation. Doon seems like a real-life fairy tale, complete with one prince who has eyes for Mackenna and another who looks suspiciously like the boy from Veronica’s daydreams. But Doon has a dark underbelly as well. The two girls could have everything they’ve longed for…or they could end up breaking an enchantment and find themselves trapped in a world that has become a nightmare.” –Goodreads

The Catcher in the Rye

tumblr_m6ymjkl5qx1rrsrc9o1_1280Author: J. D. Salinger

Published by Little Brown and Company

Genres: Literary realism, Coming-of-age story

Pages: 234

“Since his debut in 1951 as The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield has been synonymous with “cynical adolescent.” Holden narrates the story of a couple of days in his sixteen-year-old life, just after he’s been expelled from prep school, in a slang that sounds edgy even today and keeps this novel on banned book lists. His constant wry observations about what he encounters, from teachers to phonies (the two, of course, are not mutually exclusive) capture the essence of the eternal teenage experience of alienation.” -Goodreads
